FAQ

What is the hardness of the microcement?

Although the micro-element is a thin-film coating, it is characterized by high resistance and hardness. MCS microcement can be used in places with high traffic.

The resistance and hardness of the MCS microcement coating is influenced by the type of substrate on which the microcement layer was applied.

On which substrates can microcement be used?

The microcement can be used on almost all types of substrates: cement mortar, self-leveling mortar, terrazzo, marble, tiles, drywall or gypsum. It can be used on both vertical and horizontal surfaces, inside and outside buildings.

Can microcement be applied to surfaces with underfloor heating?

Yes, but the application must be done with the heating off.

Microcement flooring should be applied to cement mortars that have already achieved their parameters (ie about 3-4 weeks after the substrate has been poured). It is important that the substrate is practically dry.

We recommend using high quality self-leveling cement mortars.

After applying the microcement, wait at least 48 hours before gradually switching on the heating (+ 5 ° C each day).

Always change the temperature gradually, both at the beginning and at the end of the heating period.

Make sure that the relative air humidity in the rooms is not too low.

You should always avoid the accumulation of heat caused by carpets or carpets or the lack of space between the furniture and the floor.

Important! A dilatation should always be made between the floor and the walls.

Is the microcement waterproof?

MCS floor and wall microcement is not impermeable. The MCS hydro microcement is waterproof.

What are the differences between microcement and polished cement?

Although the finish may seem similar, it is not the same. Thanks to microcenter, greater benefits are obtained: Faster and easier application. No additional machines or heavy tools are needed for its use. Less work. Less time. Lower cost. For use in any room, not only on the ground floor and in the basement. Can be used on both vertical and horizontal surfaces.

How long does the renovation take?

The use of microcement as a repair system can be carried out for a period of one to four days. Walking on a micro-chip surface is possible after just 4 hours.

Will the color fade with time?

No, our colors are very stable and the color of the microcement does not change over time, either under the direct sun and / or extreme weather conditions.

Can different production lots have different colors?

No, MCS Decor microcement is the only microcement available on the market with a stable, always the same color, thanks to a special formula that allows us to prepare an already ready-to-use product. The color is mixed during production, in precisely measured doses and the paint is perfectly mixed, thanks to which we guarantee that the color will always be identical.

Can the colors be combined on the same surface?

Yes, you can combine different microcement colors on the same surface; the key is to carefully separate the surface to get a further color. You can also create different images and drawings – on floors or walls, combining different microcement colors.

Can the microcement be used for kitchen worktops?

The microcement can be used both for walls and kitchen floors, as an alternative to tiles. Because the microcement is without joints, its maintenance and cleaning is much easier compared to tiles. The microcement is also ideally suited for finishing the kitchen worktop, but if it is applied on a wooden base (wooden table top), hot pots and pans can not be placed on it, because it can be deformed under the influence of heat.

How long does the microcement layer dry?
A lot depends on weather conditions, especially on humidity and temperature, whether it is a closed or open space. The minimum period is 5 hours in good weather conditions and in an open room. We recommend that the second layer should be placed at the earliest 8 hours after the first layer has been placed.
How do you best clean microcement surfaces?

To ensure a long and durable life of our microcomponents, we recommend using water and neutral soap. Microcement care is similar to the care of natural wooden parquet. In addition to the MCS Hydro variant, we recommend avoiding permanent moistening or prolonged contact with water. Leaving wet rugs or leaking dishes may cause discoloration. Avoid impacts and moving hard objects on the microcenter that may damage its coating. Although the microcement offers high resistance to chemicals, cleaning should be done using neutral soap, never using aggressive chemicals or descaling products. In addition, avoid products such as chlorine, bleach or ammonia as they may damage the protective coating.
